Cienfuegos

This city which was founded by French settlers, was given the name of Cienfuegos by the Spanish soldier José Cienfuegos Jovellanos following the colonisation of Cuba. Its main charm is its location on the banks of Cienfuegos bay, which is connected to the Caribbean sea by a small canal. Don't miss the boardwalk, the town hall and cathederal, the 18th century Jagua Fortress, the Palacio de Valle or José Martí park, where you will find the home of its founder.
